Jeromy and I, and Jeromy's parents went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert featuring David Archuleta and Michael York on the 16th.
They opened up a waiting list for this concert in October and you had to wait till November to even find out if you got tickets. So, when I got them in the mail I was pretty excited. I LOVE going to see the MoTab and anyone that sings with them is a bonus. This time it happened to be the famous David Archuleta.
The 16th was opening day and boy was it packed. We thought if we left at 6:30 to head to Salt Lake it would be enough time to get in our seats by 7:30. We were wrong! We forgot that there were other seasonal things going on and that David Archuleta would be such a huge thing in Utah so parking close was out of the question. Instead we had to use the free parking pass we got and ended up parking 3 blocks away and on the 7th floor of the parking garage.
When we finally got to the doors it was around 7:45pm and there were a TON of people and all in a line to get in. The concierge told us to get in line and that the doors will close in 10 minutes. We ended up being some of the lucky ones to see the concert because hundreds of people with tickets were left outside in the cold.
I'm so glad we got to see the concert because it was amazing! Michaell York told the story of how the Tabernaclele choir came to be and what an amazing story it was. All because of one person born in Wales that had a passion for music, we have the worlds most infamous choir.
David Archuleta was great too! My favorite song he sang was Silent Night, but that's also one of my most favorite songs. He also sang the song, "The cat and the mouse carol". It was about the cat and the mouse that were watching by the manger were baby Jesus laid. It was a cute little song.
After the concert we decided on the way to the car to get some pictures in front of the infinity pool with the gorgeous Salt Lake temple in the background.
What a wondrous sight to see floating on the infinity pool.
May we always remember the true meaning of CHRISTmas and have his spirit to be with us throughout this season.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
