I can't believe that Justin is in 1st grade!
It's going to be a fun year this year.
He's got an amazing teacher, Mrs. Quitano.
She knows first hand about food allergies since her daughter is allergic to nuts and almost everything.
It's so reassuring to know that a teacher has personal experience with nut allergies.
Justin has some friends from kindergarten in his class.
His friend Javis gets to sit by him and he's already mentioned that there are a couple of cute girls in his class.
Some of the things he gets to learn this year are:
x2, x3, x4, x5, x6 tables
Division
Memorize the whole constitution
Bill of rights
and tons more.
( I still don't think that's 1st grade curriculum)
Jeromy stopped by before Justin went to school and gave Justin a big First Grade kiss and hug.
Also, the night before, Justin got a fathers blessing so he would do good this school year.
Since he's in First Grade now, we all get to get up early (7am) and join the rest of the school moms taking their kids to school. We drive past a Jr, High and 2 Elementarys to get to his school in West Kaysville.
School starts at 8:20am and we leave our house at 7:50 am to beat the rush. We usually get to his school around 8:15am. Not to bad for going past all those schools and waiting for drop off.
Justin also gets to bring his own lunch to school.
Since he's got food allergies it's not worth it to me to pay for school lunch so we've had to be creative with keeping his lunch cold/hot and thinking of lunch ideas. Thank goodness for ice packs and thermoses.
He also get his own locker now.
When I was in school all I got was a hook to hang my coat and backpack on.
That would've been so cool to have a locker.
His classroom door.
School started Aug 17th and I'm pretty sure even though it will be a very busy school year it's going to be a great one. I'm still very grateful Justin's in the school he is and still love my drive to his school. I love seeing the mountains and all the nice homes we drive by.
My boy's education is very important to me and I would do anything and drive anywhere for them.
I LOVE Oquirrh Mountain Charter School!!!!
Go Eagles!!!
